Your step-dad who's on trial
Mother wants to plug your plug
But step-dad wants a denial
State says you are a veggie
no hope of awaking
Court says pull those tubes
but suddenly you start shaking
you twitch, and breathe,
life support no longer a need
the doctors are in shock
no more tube needed to feed
But just days earlier the courts
had went along with the State
those on death row had more of a chance
to avoid heaven's gate
Did anyone fight for you
to let the Divine make it's choice?
No, they gave up on you
and ignored your silent voice
Perhaps you won't make it
And return to a vegetative state
But was there any harm
in someone asking for the courts to wait?
