There is always something we can do as individuals to make our world a little better.

For April, I would like you to think about people who are without a place to call home.

While there are millions of reasons why someone is homeless, there are millions of reasons and ways you can help.

For April I am asking each of you to go to a fast food restaurant like McDonalds or BurgerKing and get $1 gift certificates.  1 for each day of the month if possible.  Or 6 $5 certificates.

When you encounter a homeless person in a safe environment, respond with kindness. Make eye contact and give them the same respect as you would to any other person that you come across during your day.

If asked for money and you don't feel comfortable, a simple, "I'm sorry, I can't help. Take care" or "G-d bless" goes a long way.

OR you can give out one of those gift certificates.  This will alleviate any fears about the way your money could be spent. 

It is not much, but as you know as the saying goes, ‘But for the grace of G-d, there go I’.

Don’t be lazy on this one.  J

And whether you want to do this because you remember April is the month of Easter or Passover or Spring or whatever…

Just do it.
